John Thornton and David Jameson played in the prestigious Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival. The Masters was won by Nigel Short after a play-off against Hou Yifan.

David Jameson also played in the Challengers 1 event and came Jnt 17th. David James came 57th out of 85 players.
